About me

Sophia Tsang is a composer, arranger, and pianist from Hong Kong, currently based in New York City. Known for her distinctive, genre-blending musical voice, she creates immersive scores for film, documentary, and video games. Her work draws upon a refined classical foundation while embracing experimental, electronic, and world-music influences, resulting in a textural and expressive sound shaped by compelling visual storytelling.

She has scored numerous projects, including Erosion directed by Zey Li, which was officially selected for the Berlin Lift-Off Film Festival and Fairy Fang Film Festival. In 2025, she was named the Winner of the NYU Film Scoring Composition Competition and selected as a Game Audio Network Guild Scholar.

A multi-instrumentalist, Sophia performs on piano, guzheng, harpsichord, and organ, bringing a broad palette of colors and timbres to her compositions. She earned her Bachelor of Music (highest distinction) in piano performance from Indiana University Bloomington, completed film scoring studies at UCLA Extension, and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Screen Scoring at New York University.
