About me

Sophia Tsang is a composer, arranger, and pianist from Hong Kong, currently based in New York City. Known for her distinctive, genre-blending musical voice, she creates immersive scores for film, documentary, and video games. Her work draws upon a refined classical foundation while embracing experimental, electronic, and world-music influences, resulting in a textural and expressive sound shaped by compelling visual storytelling.

Her films have been showcased at multiple film festivals, and her collaborations span filmmakers and directors from various international backgrounds, reflecting her global creative perspective. In addition to her media work, she continues to develop new projects across both narrative and experimental forms.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Sophia plays piano, guzheng, harpsichord, and organ, enriching her compositions with a broad palette of colors and textures. She earned her Bachelor of Music (highest distinction) in piano performance from Indiana University Bloomington, completed film scoring studies at UCLA Extension, and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Screen Scoring at New York University.
